Thanks, Jason. And good luck with your pool business. One of the many nice things about social mediums is the great group of resources and really smart brains that are, quite literally, at your fingertips. I learn from those smart brains on a daily basis! Thanks for making time to read - and am glad you enjoyed.

Brilliant, Erroin! And so true. I'm a huge advocate of having a strategic plan - before doing anything. Without it, your efforts are most often to no avail. But when you have a plan, defined goals and, even better, measurement tools in place .... woo hoooooo, how lovely it can all be!

You are welcome, Roanne! And like you, I run into the same people. Rest assured, they'll be back. Usually with tail between their legs, when they realize that not just everyone can do this. Thanks so much for the read - and for the comment. You made me smile!

Thanks Kathy! I'm horribly behind on comments and feel like a massive loser. I know about the connections you've made, because I'm one of them. And better for having gotten the chance to meet you! IMHO, the investment required by social media is no different than the investment required by attending face to face networking events and/or just doing the things that anyone does to brand and grow their business. For me, the really great thing about social mediums is the fantastic people it allows me to connect with, learn from and collaborate with. That, my friend, is a veritable gold mine. And I know you agree! Thanks for the read and for making time to comment - I do so appreciate your friendship.

Oh, but you're getting there, Kristen. It's not an easy thing to learn - you just need to remind yourself that we were all newbies once. And, before you know it, you'll be an old hand at all this! I am sure of it!!

Hey Anita. Isn't it interesting how hard it is for some people to change? Or even notice that there's a reason to consider change? I'll bet you're glad that they (nameless then-employer) are a thing of the past for you. And I agree completely, the "human" side of social media is what makes it all so relevant. And interesting. Thanks for the read, missy!

Brad Nelson, I wonder if he's my relative? Anita Nelson went to her (nameless) then-employer in 2008 to tell them about Twitter and the results were completely different. Bravo! to Brad for his persuasiveness & the huge success on Twitter for StarBucks!

Nose picking, standing in line and rushing are some of the imperfections that make us human, thus interesting. There is nothing more boring to me than going to someone's Twitter page who only talks about themselves and their own blog, brand and products. I think we should redefine "narcissistic bullshit" to mean that type of behavior!
Anita @ModelSupplies

I am starting to understand the investment in time and making it real. I still struggle with the "plan" or "strategy" I try to provide good content and personal tidbits here and there. Thank god I have Shelly to help me with a plan!
